Summer Term Faculty

In 2010 The Island School and CEI launched a summer term that is modeled after our regular semester program. Designed for those unable to make the larger time commitment, Summer Term is more focused on questions of sustainability through human ecology, research courses, and expeditionary learning. The Summer Term is led by a team of experienced educators, including alumni mentors.

Alumni mentors are Island School alumni who want to come back to the Cape, gain teaching experience, and support high school students through this intense summer journey. The summer term team must fully participate in and oversee student life. As residential faculty members, you will share classes, chores, meals, work, and activities with students. Faculty must be “on” and available throughout the time that students are on campus and the entire team is responsible for the quality, safety, and success of the student experience. The team must also maintain high standards of risk management and outdoor leadership skills. For more information about the commitment and how to apply, click here.
