For 20 years, The Island School has been focused on celebrating student leadership involved in authentic journeys of discovery by:
Working with scientists to discover new species and explore the deep ocean
Working in the local primary schools to enhance literacy and facilitate exploration of the marine environment
Discovering plastic particles in the abdomens of large pelagic predator fish
Fabricating biodiesel from waste cooking oil to run our vans and generators
Converting recycled plastic into fossil fuel
At The Island School, we believe that our students arrive ready to go to work and make a positive change in the communities around them. While focusing on conservation, sustainability, supporting underserved communities, and challenging their own growth, student work at The Island School is celebrated far beyond the traditional transcript.
