Hey all what's up at home??? We all arrived safely in the BAHAMAS to a breezy Rock Sound Airport on Sunday. The ride over was seriously beautiful-we looked down at the ocean and saw turquoise water and expansive sandbars as far as eye could see. SOOOO PRETTY.
Once on the ground we somehow managed to fit all the luggage in the pickup and onto the van roof with only one bag falling off on the way. Campus is small and yet more spectacular than we could ever have imagined.
On our first night we trucked over to High Rock to experience out first Eleuthera sunset as a community. Unbelievable! We are a great group of kids who meshed together right away, and each faculty member is amazing with a hysterical sense of humor. At High Rock we talked and looked at our new surroundings. Maxey, Ben and Tony gave us an intro to our upcoming adventures and academics and a few words of inspiration. Back at campus we tasted the delightful confections of Mooch and Cheryl, our two wonderful cooks. After dinner, there was a campfire under clear skies and a bright moon, with yummy Maxey banana bread all around (and a song from Jack!). We were (almost) done unpacking with lights out at 10:30 as always.
6:30 am we were up and around the flagpole to start morning exercise: a swim! Each morning exercise has been different: we have been snorkeling, running, and doing a little yoga too. Sweeeeet. We all love it . . . Really. =)
Even with all this excitement and non-stop fun, WE MISS YOU!!!!!!!!! Mail is awesome (even though we can only get it once a week) but we love it! =) Yay. |
