This starts the second week of our kayak/SCUBA academic rotation. The second group of kayakers returned home Saturday afternoon and the third kayak group left Monday morning. Meanwhile, the SCUBA group was busy blowing bubbles at the bottom of the 10ft Marina. The first groups of kayak and SCUBA folks took the PADI certification test on Sunday afternoon and are anxiously awaiting the results. The first academic groups had a strenuous week of school and finally are able to have a "week off" from school work.

For morning exercise Monday morning, the group participated in a Run-Swim. A Run-Swim is a combination of different exercises included in swimming across the cuts and running through the woods; roughly two miles. On Friday and Saturday of last week, morning exercise consisted of various work projects or swimming. This weeks work projects were making reef balls and working on our cord wood hut. On Sunday, while many people attended church, the coastal management and artificial reef research groups made reef balls with some visiting scientists who enhanced our knowledge on constructing reef balls.

Monday, March 25 it finally rained! It poured down on our campus for 20 minutes, then proceeded to sprinkle the rest of the morning. Unfortunately, the Kayak 3 group was departing at that time, so they experienced a little rough weather before their adventure began. But at least for now, our water troubles have improved slightly. Despite us missing our fellow students, this is the final week of the rotation and soon everyone will be together again.
