The beginning of last week started off with our involvement piece for art due on Monday, math test on Tuesday and science test on Thursday and throughout the week we were busy with work projects and science groups. By Friday we were ready to relax and blow off some steam. Our end of the week was much less stressful than the beginning because Friday we had conch day. Conch day was an entire day dedicated to learning about conch. We started off snorkeling and free diving for conch; all together we caught about 60 conch. Once we were back on shore we had a quick lesson about how to clean the conch, some of us even skinned the conch with our teeth and ate a clear tube that we pulled out of the conch. We were told it would make us stronger, it was a little slippery going down but most of us were eager to try.
Saturday was pretty mellow, we started off with an intense game of capture the flag across the cut. We all have a few battle wounds to show for it. We had our research groups in the morning, when we handed in the methods portion of our science research paper. We had a reality check when we all received our midterm grades and comments from our teachers. Although there were some disappointments, it was smooth sailing from there. We had a quick rain shower that we thought was going to ruin Saturday night's activities, hosted by Boys' north but it proved to be a success. Because of soggy ground at Bull Dolphin, we had a barbeque behind the Dining Hall with music playing and good eating. We then were taxied to "Club Dolphin" where we all let loose and got our groove on. It was wild and crazy and we were all ready for bed by the time midnight rolled around. A surprise snack of brownies finished off the night.
