Week One

The first week has been really busy for us students. During orientation we got a chance to get to know each other and get used to all the new things at the Island School.

First morning exercise

It’s tough getting used to navy showers (turn on shower to get wet, turn off water, lather up, and turn on water to rinse) and being on time for morning circle. We are working hard to conserve water and energy and we are doing pretty well. The rain has definitely helped us out except for when our morning exercise got rained out. It turned out well because we got a chance to do some group bonding with a hilarious sing-a-long led by our very own Willie.

Ruby: Hey everyone back in Vermont. I miss and love you all very much. Alex: Happy almost birthday! I can’t believe you are almost 17! Mom and Dad: I miss you guys and I can’t wait for you guys to come see this place. Fran: I hope you are enjoying your senior year and all that entails. Annie: Hey there Chi-town. I miss you all like crazy. Cath-Happy belated birthday. I love you to the absolute moon. I’ll come through with the luau when I get home, don’t worry. Charence-Happy almost birthday you old man. Mom and Dad-hope the construction is going well and I miss you tons.  Can’t wait for Sunday! To all my ladies-keep rockin' on and let’s get going with those letters. ASAP.

Jennie:  Hey everyone!!!!!!!  I miss you all so much, and I hope everything’s going wonderfully.  Mom and Dad: WRITE TO ME…and send me stuff (but not food, or anything with non-recyclable wrapping) I love you.  Will and GB:  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!  Everybody:  I love you all so much and I miss you, and you should all write to me ‘cause there’s nothing more disappointing than hearing that the mail came and not getting anything.  I love you and I miss you…<3
